Like the Cat... Benoit Lachambre and Ong Ken Seng
Co-written with Ong Keng SEN, “Like the Cat sitting on the Edge of an Ocean of Milk, hoping to lap it all up”, is performed by Benoît Lachambre, a Canadian dancer, choreographer and performer.
Settled in Singapore, for fifteen years, Ong Keng SEN has been a director and head of the Theater Works, a company which had an artistic network form dedicated to a redefinition of the current Asian scene.
At the first sight,” Like the Cat...” exploits a principle of contradiction between stereotypes clearly represented in two separate parts: opposition between the East and West, between samurai and cow-boy, symbolic system of the Eastern monkey and symbolic system of the North-American dog, between masculinity and femininity, high and low, horizontal and vertical, back and face....
